1st Place at TechX Hackathon

Gaia-X hosted the #TechX Hackathon in Bilbao, Spain. Maharshi Suchak from smartSense Consulting Solutions secured first place with unanimous support from both popular vote and jury. His presentation focused on real automotive sector applications developed collaboratively with Boyan Tsolov and Lyuben Penkovski from Vereign, utilizing Self-Sovereign Identity components from the Gaia-X Federation Services stack.

The event occurred one week after Hannover Messe 2023, where German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck visited the GXFS booth. Four Vereign team members supported four different hackathon projects building on the SSI stack developed over 18 months. The hackathon featured intensive knowledge sharing and discussion sessions.

All projects achieved their objectives. The event demonstrated that the GXFS stack provides a robust technological foundation for building data spaces and federations, such as Gaia-X.

Following the Eclipse Foundation transition, these components will become known as Cross Federation Services Components (XFSC), serving as the first complete open-source community basis for data spaces and professional SSI applications.

Vereign offers technical workshops lasting up to two days for organizations seeking to understand the SSI kernel. These workshops include mini-hackathons integrating SSI into organizational use cases and systems, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
