The work is real
SEAL, our entry product, is live in Swiss healthcare: more than 800,000 verifiable messages every month through our partner HIN. We are now rolling out the Verimesh Suite, our Decentralized Key Management (DKMS) infrastructure, starting with HIN and the first hospital and technical-partner deployments. Everything we ship is Open Source, under AGPLv3.
All of that runs on infrastructure someone has to build and keep running: in our own cloud, and increasingly in our partners' and customers'. A demo runs when someone is watching. Production runs at three in the morning when no one is. We are hiring the engineer who makes sure ours does.
What you'll do
- Build and operate Vereign's own production infrastructure: containers on Kubernetes/OpenShift, the WireGuard mesh, CI/CD, observability, backups, and secrets management, on Swiss hosting.
- Help partners and customers stand up and run the same stack in their own environments (Hub, Node, and Cloud), hand in hand with our Solutions & Support Engineer.
- Automate onboarding so a new institution goes live repeatably and predictably, not by hand each time.
- Own reliability: monitoring, alerting, incident response, and a fair on-call rotation for live, regulated systems.
- Keep the build honest: reproducible pipelines, because verifiable code is a precondition for verifiable trust.
Who you'll work with
Petar Dobrinov (Head of DevOps), Zdravko Iliev (Head of Engineering), Rosen Georgiev (Head of QA), Kalin Canov (General Manager Sofia), and our Solutions & Support Engineer, plus the partners and customers whose deployments you help keep running, starting with HIN.
What we're looking for
- Hands-on experience running production infrastructure: Linux, containers, and Kubernetes (or OpenShift), operated for real, not just in a lab.
- CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (for example Terraform, Ansible, or Helm), and observability you have actually relied on in an incident.
- A security-minded instinct: secrets management, hardening, and reproducible builds treated as defaults, not afterthoughts.
- The judgement to automate a problem away rather than firefight it twice.
- Strong written English; you will document what you build so others can run it.
Networking and VPN experience (WireGuard especially), regulated or healthcare environments, Open Source familiarity, and Bulgarian alongside English are all a plus.
Based at our Sofia office (hybrid). Because you will operate live, regulated systems, the role carries a fair on-call commitment we will define together and staff sustainably as the team grows. Compensation is competitive and matched to your experience, discussed early and openly.
A note from the CEO: A demo runs when someone is watching. Production runs at three in the morning when no one is. What we build is depended on by institutions in a regulated sector today, which means someone has to keep it running, in our cloud and in theirs, without drama. If you take quiet pride in systems that simply stay up, and you would rather automate a problem away than fight it twice, we should talk.
All the best,
Georg
How to apply
